Boston College Big Ten Football Schedule-A-Team: Northwestern Wildcats

All-Time History With Boston College: 5 games (1-4-0)
Last Faced: 2012 (Northwestern wins, 22-13)

Travel (if necessary): Two-plus hours out to the Chicago, in what I’m sure would be a fun trip for the players.

Mutual Interest Factor: Confirmed. The two schools played a home-and-home series just a few years ago.

Intrigue Factor: Some. Two good academic schools of about the same size, both playing major-conference sports. Northwestern may be the best overall fit for Boston College in terms of scheduling and creating a rivalry in the whole Big Ten.

The Verdict: Would schedule again home or away.

Sadly, both of those home-and-home games against the Wildcats came during the depths of the Spaziani Error™, and as such Boston College had virtually no chance of winning. Things might go better if they played now, considering the programs are looking more even, and by that we mean the Wildcats stink this year and Boston College would probably beat them. Probably.

Boston College and Northwestern are a decent non-conference match and it would be interesting to see them play again in the near future. It may not happen right away, maybe not for another 10-15 years or so, but these schools will meet.
