Boston College Big Ten Football Schedule-A-Team: Ohio State Buckeyes

All-Time History With Boston College: 3 games (0-3-0)
Last Faced: 1995 (OSU wins, 38-6)

Travel (if necessary): A flight to Columbus should not take more than about 90 minutes to two hours.

Mutual Interest Factor: Confirmed. Boston College and Ohio State did originally schedule one another for the early 2020s, but that series looks like it will move to a home-and-home in 2023 and 2024. Perhaps by then we will be taking our flying cars to football games.

Intrigue Factor: At least for us, there is some. Ohio State is a brand-name program and we will get to see the Eagles play in the Horseshoe – and have the Buckeyes in our stadium in what then might end up being a national television game.

The Verdict: Would obviously schedule home or away, as it has already happened.

The last time these two teams met, Boston College opened the season ranked #22 in the nation, lost it in a horrible effort under Dan Henning, and did not get ranked again until the end of the 1999 season. Hopefully, the same fate does not befall the Eagles when these two programs meet in the next decade.

I am pleased that the schools were able to work this out. It makes sense for Boston College, not only in having a big-time opponent on the schedule, but because they do recruit Ohio fairly heavily.
