Boston College Big Ten Football Schedule-A-Team: Minnesota Golden Gophers

All-Time History With Boston College: None
Last Faced: Not applicable

Travel (if necessary): Perhaps about three hours or so by plane, if not a little more.

Mutual Interest Factor: This is similar to Michigan State in that the two schools play each other in hockey now and then, so in that respect they are relevant to one another, but this is college football.

Intrigue Factor: Any intrigue would be totally based on hockey carry-over. In other words, the football game itself would be less interesting than the prospect of the two schools meeting each other, say, in the Frozen Four soon.

The Verdict: Would schedule home or away.

It is almost hard to believe that given the history these two teams have on the ice, they have never met in football. Not that that’s a requirement, but it would seem at this point that Boston College’s relationship with Minnesota is confined only to frozen surfaces.

Would I schedule Minnesota in football in the future? Sure. It might be interesting to play them in something other than hockey for a change, and with some increased athletic competition between the two schools, it might end up intensifying the overall rivalry there, if one exists at this point.
