Boston College Schedule-A-Team: Houston Cougars

All-Time History With Boston College: 3 games (2-1-0)
Last Faced: 1985 Cotton Bowl (BC wins, 45-28)

Travel (if necessary): A bit lengthy by plane. Boston to Houston would probably take around four hours.

Mutual Interest Factor: Probably about none. It took the two getting paired off in a bowl game for them to face each other last time, and it has been only that once in the last 50 years.

Intrigue Factor: Little; see below.

The Verdict: Would not go out of my way to schedule.

Nostalgia for the bygone Doug Flutie era might be the only thing driving a scheduling of the Cougars. Some fine players and coaches have rolled through there over the years, and at least Houston is a major city as opposed to the middle of nowhere, but this is one of those teams that would be an odd match.

You would find few Boston College fans opposed to it if it happened, as it would have us learn about a new opponent we’ve only seen on very rare occasion, but the chances of it happening any time soon are remote.
