We pick six games, and tell you who we think covers. It’s pretty much that simple.
As always, these picks are against the spread and do not include any ACC contests or your Boston College Eagles. Those each come in separate installments for the same low price.
Week 11 College Football Picks: Pick One
Baylor at Oklahoma (-6.5)
Saturday, 12pm ET (FS1)
That seems to be a generous line for Oklahoma, whose defense looks roughly comparable to Baylor’s, but the Bears score about nine more points per game. Furthermore, Oklahoma has split their last four games and are 0-2 against ranked opposition so far. In their last game in Norman, they lost a heartbreaker to K-State. Oklahoma probably remembers Baylor cleaning their clocks last year and wants sweet revenge, but up against 6.5 points, Baylor feels like the right choice. Baylor +6.5
Week 11 College Football Picks: Pick Two
Notre Dame at Arizona State (-2.5)
Saturday, 3:30pm ET (ABC)
Arizona State is a fine football team and they continue to make strides forward, now being ranked in the top ten. Unfortunately, this is the kind of game Notre Dame steals. They are out to prove that they are better than their College Football Playoff ranking and I associate this game with an ominous feeling. Notre Dame +2.5
Week 11 College Football Picks: Pick Three
Kansas State at TCU (-6)
Saturday, 7:30pm ET (Fox)
I am a huge fan of this K-State program right now, as the job Bill Snyder has done in rebuilding his proud program is more than commendable. TCU, however, just has that thing going on where they win games. It’s called “being good.” If any team can keep them from covering the spread, it is probably the Wildcats. They have done good things on the road already this season and have played very competitively with the best teams on their schedule. K-State +6
Week 11 College Football Picks: Pick Four
Alabama (-6.5) at LSU
Saturday, 8pm ET (CBS)
Is Alabama the better team? Probably. Does Les Miles still have that evil juju slash voodoo slash how-the-hell-did-we-pull-this-game-out-in-the-fourth-quarter thing happening? Again, probably. LSU has a chance to screw Alabama in the playoff race and, while I am not willing to call a win, let’s make it four-for-four with underdogs. LSU +6.5
Week 11 College Football Picks: Pick Five
Oregon (-8) at Utah
Saturday, 10pm ET (ESPN)
Utah is a great story this year, 6-2 and ranked in the top 20 with a few big wins along the way. Oregon is a better story, and though it is quite possible that Utah will be able to keep up with the Ducks for a while, staying with them and Marcus Mariota for 60 minutes is often a losing proposition. Oregon -8
Week 11 College Football Picks: Pick Six
Utah State (-6.5) at Wyoming
Friday, 8pm ET (ESPN2)
As we leave the power conferences we find this Friday night game. Who knows what Utah State may have done with Chuckie Keeton all season, but alas. They are still bowl eligible at 6-2, though probably needing another to completely lock it down. This looks to be that win, as Wyoming is well below average offensively and defensively. It could be close for a while but the Aggies are the better team. USU -6.5
