BC-Free Week 11 ACC Football Picks

The Week 11 ACC football picks seem like they should be fairly straight forward, but are they? Some of those spreads aren’t that big.

We take a look at four of the five Atlantic Coast Conference football games going on this weekend and select the winners both straight-up and against the spread. As this is a Boston College establishment, Boston College’s pick comes separately on Friday morning.

Proceed, if you dare.

Week 11 ACC Football Picks: Clemson (-21) at Wake Forest

Thursday, 7:30pm ET (ESPN)

One of the nation’s best defenses meets one of FBS’s worst offenses. The score here could be very similar to that of the Florida State-Wake Forest game a few weeks ago, though do not be surprised if Clemson scores fewer points than FSU did. If Wake Forest gets out of single digits, they should be very proud of themselves. Clemson | Clemson -21

Week 11 ACC Football Picks: Duke (-3.5) at Syracuse

Saturday, 12:30pm ET (ESPN3)

Syracuse must win out to become bowl-eligible, but this is a tough ask for the Orange who, quite frankly, have not looked good this season save for a few choice examples. This game will be far more epic when it takes place on the hardwood. Chances are it will not be a blowout, but cannot logically justify a Syracuse win. That seems a slightly generous line to the Orange, who will likely have major difficulty scoring. Duke | Duke -3.5

Week 11 ACC Football Picks: Georgia Tech (-4) at NC State

Saturday, 12:30pm ET (ESPN3)

Georgia Tech has righted the ship while NC State goes for its first ACC back-to-back win streak under Dave Doeren. The Pack’s run defense is okay at absolute best, and that is probably not going to cut it against Georgia Tech. The Jackets have won their last two in blowout fashion and are probably heading for a respectable win. Georgia Tech | GT -4

Week 11 ACC Football Picks: Virginia at Florida State (-19)

Saturday, 6:30pm ET (ESPN)

Florida State is still a very good team, and though they have had some brushes with doom, they emerge stronger. A month ago, this might have proven a very interesting game, but Virginia is rapidly going in the tank. The last time Virginia visited FSU, they pulled an epic 14-13 win over the #23 Seminoles. That Hoos team was also 8-3 after that game ended, and this one is not. It’s a mismatch, though I give Virginia a slight chance to cover. Florida State | FSU -19

Week 11 ACC Football Picks: Louisville (-3) at Boston College

Saturday, 7:15pm ET (ESPN2)

We have saved the best for last. Stay tuned.
