Of course, here we pick against the spread for these six games (hence “Pick Six”) and there are no ACC teams below, as they will be picked separately later. A few of those teams might win as well.
Down to business: the picks.
Week 4 College Football Picks: Pick One
Auburn (-9) at Kansas State
Thursday, 7:30pm (ESPN)
Bill Snyder is a wily old man who wins football games. Gus Malzahn is wily and younger. It should be a good, and close, football game in which Auburn probably prevails by a score. K-State straight-up upset not out of the question. KSU +9
Week 4 College Football Picks: Pick Two
Florida at Alabama (-14.5)
Saturday, 3:30pm (CBS)
This feels like the kind of game that Alabama will get up for and win big. Alabama -14.5
Week 4 College Football Picks: Pick Three
Rutgers at Navy (-6)
Saturday, 3:30pm (CBSSN)
Rutgers has gotten off to a better start than I expected, but then again I never expect them to get off to a good start. Therefore I want to think Navy will win this, and they could, but I am not willing to lay six points at this stage. Rutgers +6
Week 4 College Football Picks: Pick Four
Oklahoma (-7.5) at West Virginia
Saturday, 7:30pm (Fox)
West Virginia is looking like that team that can give you a better game than you expect. After all, they only lost by 10 to Alabama and then picked up a decent win over Maryland. This one is in their building and it should be competitive for a while — however, if the line were still double-digits, no question I would go West Virginia. It isn’t. OU -7.5
Week 4 College Football Picks: Pick Five
California at Arizona (-9.5)
Saturday, 10pm (Pac-12)
Cal’s defense has not been overly great so far, despite their 2-0 record, and the Wildcats are probably going to score a lot of points in this one. Arizona -9.5
Week 4 College Football Picks: Pick Six
San Diego State at Oregon State (-10)
Saturday, 10:30pm (FS1)
The Beavers have yet to face a test, but San Diego State could qualify. I would define the Aztecs as “plucky” — which, in football terms, means “team that won’t go away.” Oregon State probably wins but I expect a competitive effort from SDSU. SDSU +10
