They started last season, and just might start again this season. These are the four most experienced players by a mile, but that is not to say that this is etched in stone.
Remember first and foremost that Steve Addazio and Don Brown are running a merit system. The best four players at their respective positions will start, and it is up to us to trust the collective judgment of the coaches. If that means a freshman or another underclassmen gets more reps to help bolster the secondary, then we should all be for it.
There are some fine players in this group. For example, Manny Asprilla has developed into one of the most consistent defensive players over his time at Boston College, and that is consistency the Eagles would like to see continue and spread to the rest of the secondary.
Everyone in this group of starters will be accountable for improving upon the sub-par passing game stats from last season, and helping to give the whole defensive unit some more credibility.
