Now the youth begins to manifest itself on the depth chart. There are three underclassmen above, including one redshirt freshman and one true freshman.

Some of these players, like Isaac Yiadom, could be Boston College’s future at the position. Others, like Ty-Meer Brown, are one-year rentals.

If they end up on the depth chart, these players will have to make the most of the snaps they get to help stop the bleeding in the passing defense. Brown comes to Boston College with some experience at Connecticut, Yiadom comes to Boston College with some regard, and Justin Simmons already has 25 games under his belt as an Eagle.

In keeping with experience, John Johnson played in 12 games last season, while Ntantang will likely see his first Boston College snaps this season.

Simmons presents a height advantage in being the secondary’s tallest man at 6-foot-3. He did break up three passes last season, so there’s that.
