2014 Boston College Linebackers Preview: More Two-Deep Contenders
Our Preview: Matt Milano, LB
Our Preview: Mike Strizak, LB
Our Preview: Tim Joy, LB
Our Preview: Connor Strachan, LB
The top three players all received respectable playing time in 2013, and appeared on the depth chart at one point or another. To start, Matt Milano got into all 13 games for the Eagles, though on limited playing time. Steve Addazio cited him as a player who was stepping up in spring practice and is one to watch throughout the summer and Fall.
Mike Strizak got into ten games last season and is an upperclassman to watch. When last season ended, he backed up Steve Daniels at the Will position and could do so again this year. he is another player that has generated a bit of buzz amongst the linebackers during this offseason.
Tim Joy made it into six games in 2013, though all were on special teams. He was, however, listed on the two-deep at some points last season and could find himself there again, regardless of how much playing time he gets. Last season, the Eagles were content to ride Divitto, Pierre-Louis, and Daniels as much as they could, but the calculus has changed.
Connor Strachan is the wild card. This freshman came in somewhere between a three and four-star recruit, but stars don’t matter anymore. Strachan is a big local kid and he can play. If he does not redshirt, he could contribute to this defense in a meaningful way in 2014.
