Boston College Football: Possible 2013 Bowl Destinations

Music City Bowl
LP Field | Nashville, Tennessee
The Trip from Boston: Moderate
There are direct flights from Boston to Nashville, which would take upwards of three hours. Most flights you can find there are one-stop and connect in Charlotte. You’d be looking at approximately $400 for a round-trip flight.
From the school, you’d be looking at roughly an 1,100 mile drive which would take 16 hours, give or take. That’s a decent RV trip for any students or local Superfans who wanted to do it; if you have folks who can take turns at the wheel, even better.
The Climate: Cool
Average highs at that time of year in Nashville are typically somewhere in the high 40s. Not freezing like in Boston, but not exactly Miami. The South also does periodically get the odd snow or ice storm; Nashville averages a couple inches of snow in each December and January.
The Area and Experience: Good
By all accounts, Nashville is a fun city. If you like country music, you’ll be in heaven. The Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame are the big ones, but you can also find the Johnny Cash Museum, a replica of the Parthenon, and the Andrew Jackson Home museum. Recent crime rates in the city are kind of high but you won’t be hurting for things to do if you want to be a tourist for a few days.
The Game: Good
The Eagles would draw an SEC opponent in this one, so no non-BCS yawners here. Cheapest seats in the house right now are about $28 in the tier, going well up over $100 in the lower level.
