2013 BC Football Unit Preview: Middle Linebacker
The Starter
Steele Divitto, senior
Being the new middle linebacker, Divitto could also end up leading the team in tackles. We know he has the football ability to lead this defense, and now, as a senior, it’s his turn to try. Previously, Divitto played the Sam linebacker position, but the new coaching staff has moved around many of the returning players. Divitto is on the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List and Butkus Award Watch List for this season.
The Backup
Sean Duggan, junior
Duggan, like teammate Steven Daniels and former tackle deity Luke Kuechly, is a St. X product from Ohio. So far, Duggan has appeared in 22 games and made 78 tackles, 39 in each season. His former position was Will linebacker, but Duggan now finds himself up the middle. Expect to see him get a fair amount of playing time and to possibly have his best season yet.
