With both teams having the same record, one might expect that the Louisville at Boston College opening line is tight, and it is.

More from Football

Boston College no longer has to worry about squeaking out six wins to make a bowl, as they got there last weekend by defeating Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium. Now, the name of the game is getting greedy.

The Eagles can get to 7-3 if they find a way to win at home in their second-to-last Alumni Stadium contest this year, this being against Bobby Petrino and the Louisville Cardinals. In the first-ever meeting of these teams as ACC members, which team has the early edge?

Louisville at Boston College: Initial Evaluation

Boston College were underdogs last week in a game they ultimately won, and they are underdogs again at home, opposed by a team with the same record as them at 6-3.

Louisville needs, but has not gotten, a signature win. Their win over Miami is looking better and better by the week, but otherwise, noble efforts against Clemson and Florida State have fallen short, and they lost to Virginia while they were ranked. Otherwise, the Cardinals have beaten the teams they were “supposed” to beat.

Boston College should not be counted amongst those teams they are “supposed” to beat, Vegas favorites or not. The Eagles definitely enter the game on Saturday with a chance as they have been competitive against the better teams on their schedule so far this season, with perhaps a notable exception or two.
