Diego Pavia knows tuxedoes and football, but not media and pop culture

Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia showed up in style at the SEC Media Days. Pavia was rocking a full tuxedo with a bow tie and even a little "V" pin on his lapel. He looked ready to play James Bond or host the Grammys. He actually couldn't host the Grammys or even the ESPYS because he has literally no idea about pop culture. He was shown pictures of seven people that most sports fans would know without hesitation, and he missed all but one.

Diego Pavia fails a sports pop culture quiz but shows he's locked in for the football season

Chad Withrow, a sports radio host in Nashville, showed him picture after picture of some of the most recognizable faces in pop culture. Most of them were in the sports-related media field, and yet Pavia blanked on all of them, except one, Livvy Dunne.

He was shown Joel Klatt, Sophie Cunningham, Matt Leinart, Livvy Dunne, Clay Travis, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), and Colin Cowherd. He seemed to recognize all of them except maybe Clay Travis, but couldn't recall any of their names, constantly saying he was bad with names.

The most humorous moment may have been when Withrow showed him a picture of Clay Travis because Withrow followed it up with "He's a Vanderbilt grad." Pavia was quick to say, "Come on, man, you can't do this to me." Knowing that missing a Vanderbilt grad would look bad. The good news for Pavia is that most sports fans would say out of that list, he's the least known and recognizable face of the bunch.

Pavia shows he's locked in for the season. He's not listening to any of these personalities as he doesn't even know who they are. He doesn't care about Cowherd's takes or Klatt's opinions; he's getting ready for the season.

Pavia and Vanderbilt will open the season against Charleston Southern on August 30 at 7 pm EST on ESPN+.
