Pinstripe Bowl

Who: Boston College vs. Penn State
Where: Bronx, New York
When: December 27

Yes, while some are calling this the worst bowl game in college football this season, we are going to stick our Eagles right in the middle of the 11 ACC games.

As far as we at Boston College are concerned, this is a fairly even game, despite the fact that it will be low-scoring. What holds the most appeal out of this matchup is that it features two regional rivals that have not played each other in a decade, and both are going to a (relatively) local bowl venue.

The Pinstripe Bowl was one of the quickest bowl games to sell out for a reason. Both teams got the venue they wanted and now they get to have it out against one another.

As Eagles fans know, their maroon and gold team have been frustrating and up-and-down themselves, while the Penn State offense has been in a struggle all season. If the casual fan is looking for a barnburner type game, this is not going to be it.

Boston College fans might find it frustrating if Penn State’s defense is able to slow down their top 15 rushing attack, but this looks like a tight game any way you slice it.

Must-See Factor (out of 10): 5.5. Not the game of the century, but as appealing of a venue as the Eagles realistically could have gotten this season, and again, it figures to be a very close game. Neither team is great, but there is little daylight between the two of them. Of the “minor” bowl games this season, this is probably one of the best overall pairings.
