Last Faced: 2002 (BC wins, 34-27)
Travel (if necessary): About six hours by plane out to the Bay Area.
Mutual Interest Factor: There was at some point in the recent past, and there should be more. More on that in a moment.
Intrigue Factor: Again, there ought to be some.
The Verdict: Would definitely schedule home or away.
Look at Stanford: they are a major conference program at a good academic school, running a respectable operation in the classroom and on the field while maintaining their standards. Stanford is what Boston College should emulate, because they are living proof that you can do both.
As such, I have respect for the Cardinal and think this would be a good cross-coastal rivalry to develop if Boston College was to have one. Stanford may be interested as it makes more sense than most of the other names we have examined so far.
