Travel (if necessary): Three hours or so by plane.
Mutual Interest Factor: Sure doesn’t look like there’s much of any.
Intrigue Factor: Well, uh, hm.
The Verdict: Why not, I guess. Maybe. Perhaps. I suppose. Yeah, I guess I’d schedule, but er, no, uh, real strong feelings.
Like some of the Big Ten, unless you happen to be a Boston College fan from the Midwest with a predisposition not to like Iowa, it is very difficult for Eagles fans to have any feelings about the Hawkeyes. I mean, we never play them, ever.
Boston College never reaches out into that part of the country, and in terms of recruiting, there is not a whole lot of benefit unless they plan to open a new Iowan front.
Would anybody have any objection to playing the Hawkeyes? I doubt it, but would either program care to schedule each other? We may be waiting a while.
To their credit, as an FWAA member, Iowa football sent me a nice notepad. So there’s that.
