Boston College Big 12 Football Schedule-A-Team: TCU Horned Frogs
All-Time History With Boston College: 2 games (1-1-0)
Last Faced: 1988 (TCU wins, 31-17)
Travel (if necessary): Maybe about three to four hours on the plane to Dallas-Fort Worth. Where have we heard that before?
Mutual Interest Factor: None since roughly the Iran-Contra era.
Intrigue Factor: Perhaps a tiny bit; see below.
The Verdict: Would consider scheduling home and/or away.
When these two teams met for a home-and-home in the late 1980s, the Horned Frogs were in the midst of an extended period of being awful. They were not a high-profile team back then, but they are now, and as such, they can afford to be selective with the teams they choose to schedule.
Even though the schools both have the slight commonality of being “religious” schools, which puts TCU ahead of most other schools in the Big 12 on our preferred list, not being anything near regional puts Boston College out of sight and out of mind for TCU. The Eagles are doing their own thing and the Horned Frogs are doing theirs, up to and possibly including winning a national championship this season.
