Boston College Big 12 Football Schedule-A-Team: Iowa State Cyclones
All-Time History With Boston College: 1 game (1-0-0)
Last Faced: 1961 (BC wins, 14-10)
Travel (if necessary): Airplane only. It would take at least three or four hours by plane.
Mutual Interest Factor: Little if any. These two programs have not met one another in over 50 years, ostensibly for good reason.
Intrigue Factor: How can there be any intrigue if the teams never play each other and seem to have precious little in common except shades of a color scheme?
The Verdict: Would not be opposed to scheduling, but it is not going to happen any time soon.
I have nothing against Iowa State as a school or a football program; when it comes to basketball, they have an exciting program and they’re a great story. Thing is, I cannot see Boston College scheduling them in either sport in the near future, especially in football where you only have four spots to fill most years.
The last few seasons, the Cyclones barely ventured away from the nation’s midsection, coming to the Northeast most recently in 2011 to beat UConn, and in the same season for the Pinstripe Bowl.
