Boston College Big 12 Football Schedule-A-Team: West Virginia Mountaineers

All-Time History With Boston College: 33 games (11-21-1)
Last Faced: 2004 (BC wins, 36-17)

Travel (if necessary): About an hour to an hour and a half by plane to Morgantown.

Mutual Interest Factor: None recently, but that could always change.

Intrigue Factor: Some. These two teams used to be conference rivals and had some good battles.

The Verdict: Would schedule home or away.

Finally, a Big 12 team with which Boston College actually has history. Of course, they were not in the Big 12 when they established it, but of all the teams in this conference, West Virginia is the one that the Eagles have the best chance of seeing again soon by far.

Aside from having previously been Big East foes, the two teams are close, relatively speaking. Take a four-hour plane ride to somewhere in the heartland and trim it down to about 90 minutes, and you’re in West By God Virginia. It would not be a horrible trip for either school.

The Mid-Atlantic and Midwest are regions that both schools target in terms of recruiting, so it could be mutually beneficial, though Boston College and West Virginia are not often in on the same players.

We all need a little couch-burning in our lives. Playing West Virginia would be an interesting trip into our past.
