Boston College Big 12 Football Schedule-A-Team: Texas Tech Red Raiders
All-Time History With Boston College: 3 games (1-2-0)
Last Faced: 1971 (TTU wins, 14-6)
Travel (if necessary): Oh, about four hours by plane to Lubbock.
Mutual Interest Factor: Goose egg.
Intrigue Factor: Back in the Mike Leach Air Raid days, there might have been a little.
The Verdict: Maybe if there was any hope of there being a deal, but do not expect Texas Tech to reach out.
This one’s probably not going to happen. The closest we are going to come to seeing the Red Raiders in a major sport came in 2007 when the Eagles defeated Bobby Knight’s team in the NCAA Tournament in basketball.
Three games having been played between these two teams already is somewhat surprising, though not memorable since the last one happened quite a long time before I was born. The Red Raiders have only ever made one trip to Boston.
As far as the kinds of teams they do schedule, they are mostly regional: UTEP, Houston, Central Arkansas, Sam Houston State, and Stephen F. Austin are just a few. No out-of-conference team they have officially scheduled through 2022 is east of the Mississippi River. It is pretty safe to count them out for the foreseeable future.
