2014 Bowl Games: Military Bowl
Where: United States Naval Academy, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
When: December 27, 2014, 1pm ET
Who: vs. American Athletic team
Ease of Travel: Relatively easy. It’s about a 7-hour drive from Boston, and about a 90-minute flight from Boston to BWI. As bowls go, it’s not as easy as New York City, but that’s very doable.
Desirability: Moderate to high.
Likelihood of Getting Invited: Moderate. If Boston College were available, we might get taken, but it depends on who else is available. If Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Pittsburgh all fail to make bowls, Boston College’s odds increase dramatically, assuming they don’t get sent somewhere else.
This would be a nice trip for Boston College fans from out of town. Getting to see the US Naval Academy and all the history therein would make for an interesting mini-vacation, but you’re also not far from other major cities and the attractions therein.
On December 27, the timing is just about right and there could be a decently-sized Eagles contingent at the game. It is a trip that many amongst us with the means and desire would consider.
