2014 Boston College Offensive Line Preview: The Freshmen

Our Preview: James Hendren, OL
Our Preview: Sam Schmal, OT
Our Preview: Jon Baker, OG

These three newcomers are the future for Boston College on the offensive line. Given that injuries do happen and other players can have below-par performances, it is not out of the question that some or all of these young men could play in 2014. One might even crack the two-deep if they have a great camp, but for now, the Eagles are just happy to have them here.

All three of these newcomers to the Eagles were recruits of some regard on their respective high school offensive lines.

For the record, Boston College’s 2015 recruiting class has five offensive linemen on it so far, so the Eagles know that they will have to replenish at this position. Within a few years, the 2014 Eagles listed on this page will play a prominent role in how the offensive flows.

As for this season, it is unlikely that they will see much of any playing time given how top-heavy the depth chart is: those five senior starters will do most of the work up front this year.
