2014 Boston College Backs Preview: Tyler Rouse, Likely RB Backup
Our Preview: Tyler Rouse, RB
Rouse is an upstate New Yorker who, much like Myles Willis, also made it into most games as a true freshman last season. He figures to see as much or more playing time in 2014.
He had 26 carries for 125 yards and two touchdowns on the season, averaging nearly five yards per carry in limited duties. One of his touchdowns was scored in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl in December, which had to be an exciting moment despite how forgettable the game was for the Eagles.
On the spring roster, Rouse and Willis were literally the same height and weight. Rouse is now a little lighter but showed decent skill when he got into games as a third option for the Eagles in 2013, making the most of what few snaps he got.
The most likely outcomes for Rouse this season are that he either becomes the second-string running back or remains third-string, being surpassed by one of the incoming freshmen.
