Yankees sign 15th round pick LHP Andrew Chin
(River Ave. Blues, Michael Axisa)
It was actually an eventful week for Boston College baseball on a random summer weekend. Who knew.
This is old news at the Heights by about a day or two, but former Boston College ace Andrew Chin was signed by the New York Yankees and he will not be returning to school.
Last season, Chin had a very good year for the Eagles, going 5-2 with a 3.10 ERA in fourteen starts. He struck out 52 batters in 78 and a third innings pitched, but the league only hit .214 off of him.
The question left for us to evaluate is what Boston College baseball will do without him. Granted, they were not that good before he left, and now they’re not that good and down their lefty ace pitcher.
Hopefully Jim Foster brings some magic with him up from Rhode Island, otherwise 2015 looks like another snoozefest.
