3. Is this game really a toss-up like the unit previews suggest?
Vegas suggests it, too, and they know what they’re talking about. Generally speaking, if they issue a spread within a field goal either way, then the game is going to be close. This one is most likely going to be close.
There is some reason to believe that Boston College Eagles v.2013 will not be as hopeless as Boston College Eagles v.2012, and when the season is over, these teams will probably finish somewhere relatively near to one another. Aside from the fact that Wake has won the last two meetings against a different BC coach, neither team appears to have a distinct advantage when it comes to offense or defense. As for special teams, well, one can only hope the Eagles won’t be caught sleeping the next team tries to fake a punt.
Neither team has done much lately to stand out. Nevertheless, one team is going to win, and tomorrow morning, the pick will be registered.
