Boston College at Wake Forest: 5 Big Questions
By Joe Micik
3. Which quarterback is better right now: Chase Rettig or Tanner Price?
Rettig. Chase has been leaned on more by his team and has come up bigger than Price has so far, which is a bit surprising. Not because Rettig isn’t good, but because Price had what I would consider a breakout season last year and it has not materialized in 2012. Price’s completion percentage is down and his yardage and touchdown paces are down this year.
Meanwhile, Chase Rettig has had more passing attempts, but has a higher completion percentage, more yards per attempt, and many more touchdown passes. In just eight games, Rettig has already thrown for more yards than he did all of last season. If he continues on such a pace, he will throw for more yards this year (3,299) than Price did last year (3,017).
Not having closely followed Wake football to this point, it is difficult to say what the problem is with Price this year or if it’s even all his own fault. What I do know is that Chase Rettig is having a superior season in just about every metric.
