NC State at Boston College: 5 Big Questions
By Joe Micik
4.) NC State may be 5-4, but are they any good?
Not really. Of the Wolfpack’s five victories, two of them can be considered decent: Virginia and North Carolina. That, of course, is two more decent wins than BC has.
Still, their offense has been very spotty production-wise and while the defense has some individual standout qualities to it, like leading the nation in interceptions and being 5th in the nation in turnovers gained, they don’t necessarily have the numbers to show for it. At the end of the day, they’re sub-par offensively and not much better than a middle-of-the-road defense.
Is that more than you can say for BC? Well sure. That’s not the point, however: the Wolfpack haven’t done much to distinguish themselves, despite their record, and are far from the toughest team BC has faced this season. That doesn’t guarantee a win or anything of the sort; just that the gap between BC and NC State is smaller than, say, BC and Florida State.
