What we thought about this game in the offseason

The Eagles only narrowly lost to this team in the 2010 season, but Boston College might end up being a better team this year. They were pretty close last time, and if BC is indeed playing better, then they have a decent shot at pulling the road upset.

Winning in College Park is precisely what the Eagles did last time they were there in 2009. Either way, the last few games these teams have played have been close, so it might not take much to fip it our way this time around.

What we think about it now

Maryland is worse than expected, but so is BC. Danny O’Brien has put together a pretty poor stat line so far, but the cushion in BC’s secondary can cure what ails flagging offenses.

Defensively, the numbers are also about the same for the Terps as they are for the Eagles.

Boston College win probability

Moderate. This is one of the two remaining games where they have the best shot of victory. Both teams look terrible so far this year, but at least the Terps have beaten a team on what was the I-A level, which is more than we can say for BC. Close call; if the Eagles do not win this one, there will be very little stopping them from going 1-11.
