2011 ACC Atlantic predictions

3rd place: Maryland
I wavered on where to put this team, but settled on a third place finish for Randy Edsall in his first season as Terps coach. Maryland doesn’t have an easy schedule but their offense, led by QB Danny O’Brien, will take them places. I’m not as optimistic as some others seem to be with regards to where they’ll finish (I had thought about putting them at second), but I’m more optimistic than the ACC preseason poll was and third place should provide Maryland with a respectable finish.
The transition to Edsall’s schemes is something to watch here, but if the transition is smooth, then the Terps can end up doing quite well in 2011.
