Off-topic: 2011 ACC Coastal predictions

Champion: Virginia Tech
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Virginia Tech is just one of those teams that seems to be at or near the top every year no matter what they do. They’ve lost Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Williams, but they’ve still got an experienced winning coach in Frank Beamer and they are returning a number of starters on offense.
The Hokies’ schedule looks pretty easy. Their non-conference slate is Charmin-soft, and their ACC schedule does not feature Florida State, NC State, or Maryland (as in, the apparent three best teams in the other division). If their season was a complete disaster, they would still win eight games (four in conference) with this schedule, but realistically, they’re probably looking at ten or more overall, with about six or seven in the ACC. The title game seems to await Virginia Tech once again, but we’ll see.
