President Donald Trump inserted himself into the college world of paying players and how it's regulated this week. He signed an executive order that will ban third-party payments to college athletes, among other things. Like all levels of politics, some people hate it, while others love it and praise Trump's efforts. Legendary Tim Brando is one of those praising Trump's executive order, "This is only the beginning."

Long-time broadcaster and the voice of many of the greatest college football and basketball games of the last 30 years, posted on his social media account about the President's executive order, "This is only the beginning of why we'll see more massive changes to the sport we love. POTUS loves it too."

Tim Brando is all for President Trump's new executive order banning third-party payments to athletes

President Trump's executive order titled "Save College Sports" has been boiled down mainly to banning third-party payments to athletes. It also includes many more elements that the White House believes will help lift college athletics out of the chaos it has been caught in for many years.

The biggest implications of this executive order are: It will require the preservation and expansion of non-revenue and women's sports. It backs the house settlement for third-party payments to only be made in a "fair-market" situation and not just to pay for play. It is working to direct the Secretary of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board to bring clarity to those non-revenue sports and the student-athletes who are receiving education and development as part of their athletic competitions.

There's also Olympic implications as part of it is to direct the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and the Director of the White House Office of Public Liaison to work alongside and consult with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams to continue to develop the United States as a premier country in the Olympics.

While there are many naysayers and frustrated individuals who believe the President should stay out of it, there are others, like Brando, who are ready for the White House to intervene in the chaos in an effort to bring clarity and structure to the college sports they love so much.
