Georgia now holds one of the best 2026 recruiting classes after dream June run

It's funny how things can change in only a month for the Georgia football team. Countless haters were going after Kirby Smart, as before June, the Bulldogs were lagging a little bit in the recruitment department. That's no longer the case - nope, not by a long shot.
In June alone, the Bulldogs went from 10 known verbal pledges to 26. That's right, Smart and his staff were able to pick up 16 commitments for the 2026 class in a 30-day stretch. That's unreal right there. Not only that, but Georgia now holds the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation according to 247Sports. Talk about getting the job done.

On top of that, a pair of 2027 commits came in for the Dawgs, giving Smart 18 total pledges in June. It's been an impressive stretch for Georgia and a flurry of 4-star commitments have arrived. Jared Curtis remains the only 5-star on the list, but he of course pledged to Georgia in May.
This incredible June sure has a lot of people forgetting about Jackson Cantwell committing to Miami. Smart brought in a boatload of prospects in for official visits this spring/early summer and his efforts have paid off in the best way possible.
The Bulldogs remain high on the list for other elite prospects too, with more good news expected sooner rather than later. Georgia and Smart are no strangers to not only pulling off huge recruiting wins, but pushing for national titles as well.
Last season the Dawgs fell short in the College Football Playoff, but the 2025 class was unreal and now even more gems are on the way for '26. The rest of the country has learned that trying to land a top target over Georgia is never going to be easy. Smart is an ace recruiter and we all got a close-up look at that with the 16 pledges for '26 he was just able to land. Goodness.
