Boston College Football Recruiting: LB Grady Higgins Commits to Eagles

It took about five months to get the 25th dude in the 2015 recruiting class, but yesterday, linebacker Grady Higgins committed to Boston College Eagles football.

The Higgins commitment was reported by someone with a rhyming surname, Greg Biggins.

As seen above, Higgins hails from Rancho Santa Margarita, a mountainside town in Orange County, California. This is the town where much of the shooting for Real Housewives of Orange County takes place, in case any readers were interested to know.

Higgins will reportedly join Boston College as a preferred walk-on; he did spurn actual offers from schools such as Holy Cross, Montana, North Dakota, and Idaho.

A westerner who will now be coming out east, the outside and/or middle linebacker Grady Higgins measures up at 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds. Rivals rated him a two-star recruit. Hudl verifies that he runs a 4.73 40.

Now for the obligatory highlight video.

The best thing that can be said for Grady Higgins after watching that collection is that he has a nose for the football. Apparently, nobody could block him, either. He had lots of straight shots at quarterbacks and ball carriers, which makes it more unclear as to how much is him and how much is bad defense, but he appears to do well at reading plays and losing his blocker when somebody does get on him. The tackle he makes just before the three-minute mark is impressive, crossing the field to make the stop.

Bottom line, it looks like he can play. For a walk-on, this is not a bad deal for the Eagles, and there is always the chance of earning a scholarship.

Steve Addazio is not averse to playing walk-ons here and there, so if Higgins can ball, he will be in there someday. Congratulations to him and welcome to Boston College.
