2015 NFL Mock Draft, Boston College: Andy Gallik Still Looking Strong

facebooktwitterreddit

There is still a long way to go, but the latest aggregate 2015 NFL mock draft reveals that one Boston College offensive lineman is in good shape.

Graduate student center Andy Gallik, a team captain in 2014 who has played his final game with the Eagles, is preparing for the 2015 NFL Draft. As of right now, it would appear that he has a reasonable chance of getting taken by one of the 32 NFL teams. Boston College had four players selected last year; while it does not currently seem like that will happen again in 2015, Gallik would make at least one.

Aside from Andy Gallik, the Rimington Trophy finalist and an All-ACC second teamer, what other Boston College Eagles have a shot at the draft this spring?

The last time we did a scan of the mock drafts, Gallik and Mihalik appeared, but nobody else did. That is still the case now. Of course, in 2014, it was quite surprising to all of us that four Eagles got drafted, so perhaps another player out there has a chance. It might be another offensive lineman like Bobby Vardaro or Ian Silberman, or a linebacker like Josh Keyes. Those are some of the most draft-worthy players the Eagles have.

As for the quarterback, Tyler Murphy, it’s not likely that he will have his name chosen; his ability to run with the football is phenomenal for his position, but the passing needs work, and many teams at the next level go for the pro-style pocket passer. The latter does not describe Murphy.

There are not many mock drafts that go beyond the first round, and only one of the major ones goes the full seven rounds. In all the ones that show some added picks, Andy Gallik is present. With some good combines and/or pro day appearances, hopefully, this can only get better.
