General 2015 Boston College Sports Predictions
By Joe Micik
This is the time of year when people like to offer thoughts on what will happen in the year ahead. If the Amazing Kreskin and political commentators can do it about their chosen fields of focus, we can send forth 2015 Boston College sports predictions.
Yesterday, as we wished you all a happy new year, there were a few questions we asked about how things will go for Boston College athletics this year. Now, in a half-serious exercise that we will revisit on December 31 or thereabouts, we will attempt to answer them as best as possible.

2015 Boston College Sports Predictions: Football
• Boston College will be bowl-eligible in 2015. A new offensive line and quarterback will step in, but the stable of running backs will remain the same. Darius Wade or whichever transfer gets trucked to Alumni Stadium this spring will have enough wheels to keep the offense moving.
Throw in a manageable non-conference schedule while they just about break even in the ACC and they’ll find a way.
As for what happens after they get to the bowl game, I do not choose to speculate. The last two were pretty unfortunate.
• The Eagles will finish 5th in the ACC Atlantic.
2015 Boston College Sports Predictions: Basketball
• Boston College men’s basketball will end their six-game losing streak to Harvard on January 14.
• The Eagles will upset one ranked team during ACC play.
• In spite of that, Boston College will enter the 2015 ACC Tournament with 13 overall wins, and will be the number 12 seed.
• Boston College will win one ACC Tournament game this year.
2015 Boston College Sports Predictions: Hockey
Boston College Eagles
• Boston College men’s hockey will make the 2015 NCAA Tournament, but as one of the last teams in the field of 16.
• The women will repeat as Beanpot champions; the men will not.
• In the Hockey East Tournament, the men will make it to the TD Garden.
• The women will win the 2015 NCAA Tournament and bring home their first national championship.
Bonus: 2015 ACC Sports & Hockey East Predictions
• The 2015 ACC football champions will be the Clemson Tigers.
• Eight ACC teams will make the 2015 NCAA Tournament in basketball, one of which will make the Final Four.
• Boston University men’s hockey will make the Frozen Four, but will not win the national championship.
