2014 ACC Bowl Games: #3
Orange Bowl

Who: Mississippi State vs. Georgia Tech
Where: Miami, Florida
When: December 31

This game might be on at a few New Years’ parties, and with good reason. It’s a great matchup of two very good teams, though the only criticism here is that both are coming off of losses.

In Mississippi State’s case, it’s a little more pronounced, as they have lost two out of three and the timing could not have been worse for their proverbial carriage to turn back into a pumpkin (not that there’s ever a good time for it).

Dak Prescott and his 37 total touchdowns should be worth the price of admission, but Georgia Tech does the triple option better than anyone and we could end up with a high-scoring game.

Very little to complain about with this one. Georgia Tech is a team worthy of having made the Orange Bowl this season with their better year than expected, while Mississippi State was a legitimate contender, until they weren’t, but also deserve the opportunity to be in a game of this stature. For a few teams that are not typically in games such as these, this looks like an intriguing heavyweight fight.

Must-See Factor (out of 10): 8. Everybody except defensive coordinators loves a slugfest. This game could fit the bill, despite the defenses actually being good.
