Fans of this program remember the horrors which unfolded the last time these teams met. In one of the worst losses of the past decade, in the first game of a new decade no less, Boston College lost to Maine by one point at home. One Josh Southern free throw and/or a missed layup by Rakim Sanders in the final 90 seconds were the difference.
That Eagles team which lost to Maine basketball was coming off of an NCAA Tournament season; this one is coming off of one of its worst years ever. Yet, despite the fact that these Boston College Eagles may not have the talent to do much, they have more heart and, apparently, more confidence.
Last time out, Boston College pulled a slight upset over the visiting Providence Friars and are back above water level at 4-3. Maine, and most of the next several games for that matter, feature a real chance for the Eagles to add some wins to their total. Expect Boston College to be heavy favorites tonight.
