The Golden Gophers, a top-five team with many past encounters with Boston College on the big stage, is making its first trip to Conte Forum in 15, almost 16 years. We do get opponents of this magnitude here, but the last eight meetings against the Gophers have been somewhere other than Chestnut Hill (two were tournament games). It’s about time they came here for a change.
Boston College rides a three-game win streak into this one, having seemingly recovered from a horrible stretch in which they lost four in a row. Entering play tonight, the Eagles have remained steady in the national rankings, but figure to get a big bump if they are victorious.
As for Minnesota, all they want to do is let the good times continue to roll against Boston College. Since the Eagles beat them up in the 2012 Frozen Four, Minnesota is 2-0-1 in these games, outscoring BC 17-5.
Do the Eagles show tonight that they truly are on the comeback trail, or does Minnesota run their unbeaten streak against Boston College to four games?
