Boston College is hoping to sweep the regular season with the Minutemen by going out to their barn and beating them tonight.
The Eagles got a big win the last time they stepped out onto the ice, beating Michigan State in East Lansing last weekend to halt a four-game losing streak, their longest such in a decade. Tonight, Boston College hockey’s main objective is to prevent themselves from making it five losses out of six, which would also drop them back under .500 for the season.
This is an important game already in Hockey East play. With the Boston University Terriers looking much improved and other teams like Providence, UMass-Lowell, and Vermont not going away, as well as an early season loss to UConn in one of the games most of us would have penciled in as a win, the Eagles need to begin accumulating conference points again.
Boston College is already nine points out of first place, which is quite a distance to be behind in November. If the Eagles are going to be the team they want to be, it has to start with two points tonight in Amherst.
