Game 3: Boston College-New Mexico Basketball Gameday

For the Boston College Eagles basketball team, New Mexico basketball gameday is a chance to turn things around.

More from Basketball

In recent seasons, the Eagles have struggled in early-season tournaments, and even had a loss to these same New Mexico Lobos in there. Of course, this matched the overall tenor of these seasons, where Boston College has tested historical lows in their program in terms of results.

Though still very early in the season, the cracks already began to appear in the Eagles’ defeat against the Massachusetts Minutemen on Sunday. The coach and some of the players might be different, but those issues are the same, and they are well-known to Boston College basketball fans. Seeing them again today would not thrill those people, but it would not surprise them, either.

Boston College is in Puerto Rico to face the New Mexico basketball team this afternoon, starting a three-game journey that could have them face West Virginia, Texas A&M, or even UConn. Do the Eagles rebound from yet another disappointing loss to UMass, or is Boston College destined to sink below .500 once more?
