ACC Football Week 12: The Rich Get Richer
Boston College fans will hope that Florida State’s deal with the prince of darkness (not Ozzy Osbourne; the real Devil) expires at some point between now and next Saturday.
Florida State pulled off another win despite arguably getting outplayed by Miami down in Coral Gables. The Seminoles scored 10 unanswered in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning touchdown with just over three minutes to go.
The Seminoles actually trailed by 13 at the half, but as we have seen previously this season, they are a second-half team.
Miami should be proud of what they were able to do, but nobody has been able to close the deal against Florida State this season. In a strictly football sense, they are like Robin Spitz-Swallows in the second Austin Powers movie: “Why won’t you die!?”
Some say Boston College may be Florida State’s last line of defense before the playoff, but they are probably not getting there without an ACC championship, and there is no guarantee of that, either. Still, the Eagles have an opportunity yet again to do something special.
