Game 1: Boston College-New Hampshire Basketball Gameday

facebooktwitterreddit

Boston College officially inaugurates the Jim Christian era tonight as the Eagles take on New Hampshire basketball at Conte Forum.

More from Basketball

Christian will coach his first real game as the head man of Boston College, taking over for Steve Donahue after the program had its worst three-year stretch in history. The road to a rebuild may prove to be a long and treacherous one for the Eagles, but a program must start somewhere, and a good place to look would be against visiting UNH.

In their only preseason exhibition tune-up last week, the Eagles defeated American International College, 92-53.

New Hampshire basketball comes to Conte Forum out of the America East Conference, having posted an abysmal 6-24 overall record last season. Boston College was not much better, going 8-24, the latter being the most losses in a single season in Eagles program history.

Boston College will roll out a bit of a new-look team tonight, one that no longer has such faces as Ryan Anderson, Joe Rahon, and Danny Rubin, but includes newcomers such as Dimitri Batten, Aaron Brown, and Idy Diallo.

Chances are Boston College will start off the season with a good night, but after last year, anything is possible.

This game at Conte Forum will happen simultaneously with the hockey game in Michigan; follow @SoaringtoGlory for updates on both.
