Boston College SEC Football Schedule-A-Team: Texas A&M Aggies

All-Time History With Boston College: 4 games (3-1-0)
Last Faced: 1982 (BC wins, 38-16)

Travel (if necessary): Three hours or so by plane out to East Texas.

Mutual Interest Factor: Does not exist.

Intrigue Factor: See above.

The Verdict: Would be open to the idea of it, but admittedly a low priority.

Not much against Texas A&M from here, and props to Johnny Manziel for voting Andre Williams second on his Heisman ballot last season, but that is about as much as we can say for this one. The four games they played against each other occurred from 1973 to 1982. Nothing before, nothing after, and likely to remain nothing after now that they are in the SEC.

Boston College SEC Football Schedule-A-Team: Vanderbilt Commodores

All-Time History With Boston College: 3 games (2-1-0)
Last Faced: 2008 Music City Bowl (Vandy wins, 16-14)

Travel (if necessary): Two and a half hours out to Nashville, or thereabouts.

Mutual Interest Factor: Probably minimal, but for reasons that will shortly be explained, maybe there should be more.

Intrigue Factor: Meh, Mr. Commodore and the Demon Deacon look too similar, and the schools have the same colors.

The Verdict: Would schedule home or away.

Of all the teams in the SEC, Vandy might be the most like us. They are a good academic school with a marginal football program that the “haves” in the conference wish they could drive out but it won’t happen. That’s a good enough reason why this scheduling should happen someday.

Besides, most Boston College fans would probably want another crack at the Commodores after the Music City Bowl.
