Boston College Schedule-A-Team: Temple Owls
All-Time History With Boston College: 37 games (28-7-2)
Last Faced: 2004 (BC wins, 34-17)
Travel (if necessary): Easy by plane; a little long by bus. Philadelphia is less than an hour away by plane, but about 5-6 hours on the ground. In terms of fan travel, this would probably get a Boston College turnout.
Mutual Interest Factor: Probably at least some.
Intrigue Factor: Decent, relative to most of the other teams in the American. Steve Addazio and half his coaching staff were just there, and the two teams had established quite a bit of history being in the same conference. Boston College and Temple played each other every year from 1982 to 2004.
The Verdict: Would schedule home or away.
Temple may be the most appealing option of the AAC teams. The programs have history and it would not be a bad trip for either school. The Owls are in okay shape again as a program, and Boston College could probably get some fans to Lincoln Financial Field if the game were down there. Go for the football, stay for the cheesesteaks.
In a way, I’m surprised they have not worked something out yet.
