Louisville vs. Boston College: 5 Big Questions — #3

Is it alright to be concerned about Tyler Murphy being banged up? Could it spell trouble for the Eagles?

What is in question:

What Murphy has said in response:

"I’m doing alright. At this point you really have to take care of your body and get your training going and get your legs back, just because it’s so late in the season. You have to be careful not to do too much where you hurt yourself. Tyler Murphy (Football Prepares for Bout with Louisville)"

Lots of that is probably just non-committal “football speak,” though when we saw Murphy hobbled a bit during the Virginia Tech game, there was something to it.

There is no reason to think Murphy will not play, and based upon the above, one would think he understands that while he wants to compete at a high level, he cannot push himself too hard.

Now, this brings up an interesting question related to one of the previous 5 big questions: Should Boston College take it slow with him since they’re bowl-eligible and probably not playing for anything ACC Atlantic-related? Unless he is in real jeopardy of injuring himself extensively, there is no need to baby him.

It is always concerning to some extent when your highly productive quarterback is playing at a level beneath 100 percent, but for now, it is probably not worth a great deal of worry.
