Charlie Callinan and Marcus Outlow got in on the touchdown fun for Boston College on Saturday.
For Callinan, it was an early touchdown reception off of the hands of Tyler Murphy that got him his first score of the season, and his Boston College career. Through the Virginia Tech game, Callinan now has 11 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown.

As for Marcus Outlow, one of Boston College’s talented stable of running backs, he too caught a touchdown pass for his first career NCAA score. That one came later in the game. Outlow has 76 yards through the air on six receptions, and that number should increase as the 2014 season comes to a close as the freshman has good hands and has earned a reputation as a playmaker already.
With his performance on Saturday, Outlow is over 200 all-purpose yards for the season.
In fact, six Eagles running backs now have at least 100 yards rushing this season. Tyler Murphy, of course, is knocking on the door of 1,000 and should get there next week against Louisville. That in itself is an impressive feat, as the Eagles have many different players soaking up carries, and given the fact that he is the quarterback, far outpacing the running backs.

Boston College is now 2-0 under Steve Addazio against Virginia Tech. Prior to his arrival on the Heights, Boston College had gone winless over the Hokies in the previous regime.
As for how much is the Eagles and how much is the Hokies’ evident decline, that is not for us to consider. What matters is the Eagles won.
