In March of last year, the Eagles defeated the Pioneers, the defending champions of the NCHC Tournament, in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. That was just one example of how these two programs have built a fair amount of history over the years, noteworthy considering they are separated by about 2,000 miles.
This will be an important early test for the Eagles to gauge how far they have come during this brief win streak. Further, it will be our first chance to see how Jerry York organizes the defensive pairings with Steve Santini out for the remainder of the first half.
