Clemson vs. Boston College: 5 Big Questions — #2

Building off of the last question, you may have seen that Boston College has the #5 rushing offense in the country. On the other hand, Clemson has a top-15 run defense. How do you think the Tigers will handle it, and who has to have a big game for Clemson to stop it?

RTR: I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned about Tyler Murphy‘s ability to run the ball but I am very confident in Clemson’s run-defense and expect them to do a pretty good job this week. The guys I mentioned before, Grady Jarrett and Stephone Anthony, will need to play well, but they always do.

The thing that really worries me about BC’s running game is that it will shorten the game considerably if Clemson can’t get them off the field quickly. I’m expecting a low-scoring game and I think that’s exactly what BC is going to need to pull the upset.

I’m sure BC will get their yards but I also kind of think Clemson can sell-out on stopping the run and force Murphy to try to beat them through the air. It doesn’t seem like he has been forced to do that yet this year but, if anyone can pull that feat off, it might be Clemson.
