Grad student quarterback Tyler Murphy has been central to Boston College’s rushing attack this season, leading the team in rushing yards despite being the quarterback.

As a matter of fact, only (running back) James Conner has more rushing yards per game in the ACC, and no quarterback in FBS has rushed for more yards this season than Murphy.

Watching Boston College run the football is fun, most of the time. Of course, it’s not just Murphy: it’s Jon Hilliman, Myles Willis, Sherman Alston, Tyler Rouse, and Marcus Outlow who are all contributing to the Eagles having one of the best ground games in the nation.

This football team has identity. It knows what it does and it may be one-dimensional, but it does that one dimension well.

When Murphy is responsible for touchdowns, it’s usually on the ground, like the one Andy Gallik celebrated with him above.
